Jacksonville Air Show

Jacksonville, Mayport Naval Station, Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach, and Atlantic Beach skies and waterways are being transformed into the backdrop for the most exciting air acts and military demonstrations in the world!

This FREE, according to http://www.jacksonvillebeach.org/, propaganda event will feature a dynamic over-the-ocean sky show highlighted by the world-famous United States Navy Blue Angels, that the USA citizens very much, pay for. It will also include other military and civilian flight teams, live entertainment, a street festival featuring static displays of aircraft and military vehicles, simulators, recruitment booths (BING BING BING, Propaganda 101), a kids area and a Meet The Performers Autograph session presented by VyStar Credit Union.


A long list of rules are posted below, but the show is on and if you park on the side of most streets west of 3rd St., A1A, Beach Front Avenue, then you won’t have to pay or even get near 3rd street when leaving.

Show Center Location
From the Atlantic Ocean to 3rd Street N. (SR A1A) between Beach Boulevard (U.S. 90) and 6th Avenue N.

9:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Ocean Restrictions – Swimming and Surfing
Swimming, bathing, and surfing will not be permitted from Myra Street (Neptune Beach) south to 32nd Avenue S. (Jacksonville Beach) during the following days/times:
Thursday, October 18: Noon until 4 PM


Friday, October 19, through Sunday, October 21: 8 AM until 5 PM

Parking Information
Parking will be extremely limited during the event. Event attendees are strongly encouraged to take the convenient, free shuttles. Shuttles will start running at 8 AM and will run continuously to and from the event site until 6 PM.

• Handicapped parking will be available in the Wells Fargo parking lot located at 233 3rd Street N.

• Bicycle racks will be available at the following locations
o1st Avenue S. street end
o6th Avenue N. between 1st and 2nd Streets
All bicycles are left at racks at owner’s own risk.

Street Closures – all street closures will be in effect until Monday, October 22.

Friday, October 19

•1st Ave. North from 3rd Street to 2nd Street EASTBOUND (close at noon)
•2nd Ave. North from 3rd Street to 2nd Street
•3rd Ave. North from 1st Street to 2nd Street

Saturday, October 20

•Pablo Avenue from 6th Street to 3rd Street – transportation hub
Parking Lot Closures – all lot closures will be in effect until Monday, October 22.

Jacksonville Beach Pier Closures

The Jacksonville Beach Pier parking lot will be closed Tuesday, October 16. The Jacksonville Beach Pier will be open to the public until Thursday, October 18, at 9 a.m. The pier Bait & Tackle Shop will close Thursday, October 19 at 9 a.m. and reopen on Monday, October 22.

Friday, October 19
No parking at the pier. The Pier and Bait and Tackle Shop will be closed. Pier will not be open for patrons prior to or after hours of closure.
Saturday, October 20
No parking at the pier. The Pier and Bait and Tackle Shop will be closed. Pier will not be open for patrons prior to or after hours of closure.
Sunday, October 21
No parking at the pier. The Pier and Bait and Tackle Shop will be closed. Pier will not be open for patrons prior to or after hours of closure.

Security Information
In order to protect the safety of all those attending the Jacksonville Sea & Sky Spectacular, certain security measures will be implemented. The following lists prohibited and allowed items within the festival site. All items and persons are subject to visual inspections.

Ocean Restrictions

Boating
The U.S. Coast Guard and Navy will enforce the “Naval Vessel Protection Zone.” Boaters must operate at a minimum speed within 500 yards of any U.S. Naval Vessel and proceed as directed by the Commanding Officer of the vessel. Do no approach within 100 yards of any naval vessel. Violation of the Naval Protection Zone is a felony offense punishable by up to 6 years in prison or up to $250,000 in fines.

To the North – 1 mile north of the pier. Boats must stay north of the buoy line.
To the South – 1 ¾ miles south of the pier. Boats must stay south of the buoy line.
To the East – ½ mile east of the end of the pier.
To the West – Beachfront

Boaters should tune their marine band radios to VHF-FM Channel 22A at 8:15 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. for further instructions.

Sand Dunes
Acting as our first line of defense against storms and erosion, sand dunes play a vital role in the preservation of our beaches. Standing or walking on the sand dunes to view the air show is not permitted. To access the beach, please use the wooden dune crossovers. Crossovers are for through traffic only. Standing or sitting on the crossovers is not permitted. Do not climb over any temporary fencing placed on the beach and boardwalk sides of the dunes. Picking sea oats is not permitted.

The City of Jacksonville Beach and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection ask for the assistance of spectators to request other attendees to stay off the dunes. Please inform event staff, lifeguards, police officers, or security staff of violations.
