FDLE investigating Madison Jail inmate death

Madison County Sheriff Benjamin J. Stewart, as standard policy and procedure, requested assistance from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Live Oak Field Office, to investigate the death of inmate Jacob Allen Porter, 22. Porter was found dead, from what appears to be a result of suicide, Tuesday, Nov. 6, in his cell at the Madison County Jail.
Porter was in jail on charges of burglary, possession of methamphetamine, paraphernalia and a misdemeanor charge of theft.
FDLE is conducting the death investigation and providing forensic services.
