Flooding in Jacksonville today sunk a few police cars, and inundated many local businesses and homes with water. Below you can find images of the flooding and some Jacksonville Beach locals taking advantage of the floods to catch up on some street surfing. (Until the safety Nazis stepped in of course:-)
The flooding began mid-afternoon and before long the streets were filled with floating cars and SUVs driving down the median of 3rd Street in order to avoid totaling their cars.
The national weather service has issued a flood advisory. First Coast News is reporting:
Whats left of Karen will spin right over us the next 24-36 hours. At the same time a cool front will drop into the area. This combination will produce some very heavy rainfall totals in some areas.
