Freddie Schinz | Citizens Property Insurance Corporation

Senate President Don Gaetz announced the appointment of Mr. Freddie Schinz to the Citizens Property Insurance Corporation Board of Governors.

“Mr. Schinz’ more than 40 years of experience as both a commercial builder throughout our state, business leader and insurance consumer in the Florida market will bring conservative business practices and common sense to a board that has far too long been managed by those entangled in the insurance industry,” said President Gaetz. “I am confident Mr. Schinz will represent the Senate well and promote our mission to shrink Citizens and reduce the liability to Floridians.”

Freddie Schinz, a graduate of Florida International University’s School of Engineering and Design (1976’), is the president of TIFORP Development Corporation, a nationally recognized real estate development firm.  With over 40 years of continuous operation, TIFORP and its subsidiary corporations have developed, sold and occasionally built nearly 60 major projects nationwide and throughout Florida.

Mr. Schinz will replace Carol Everhart who was originally appointed by Senate President Ken Pruitt. Mr. Schinz is appointed for a term of office beginning immediately and expiring August 1, 2016.
